The ECSS Education Department has over ten years experience in delivering education programmes in South Sudan to the marginalised communities. The programmatic areas of interventions and operations cover all the original ten states of South Sudan. To support and encourage development in the education sector in South Sudan, ECSS Education Board currently participates in delivering multiple education components that include: Teacher Education Program through In-service Trainings, offer and lobby scholarships to support pre-service teacher training, Capacity building to education managers, training of school governing bodies (PTA & SMC), Church education coordinators, training of Christian Religion Education teachers, supporting advocacy for girls’ education, peace building & conflict resolution ,education in emergency support, rehabilitation and construction of schools to provide access to conducive learning environments
All programming, as a church development wing, is performed in holistic fashion, as they envision to positively impact the beliefs, values, and behaviour of those we serve. The church has always historically been involved in education and ECSS take it as part of their greater holistic vision of how a church should be providing for the marginalised communities in South Sudan. ECSS Education seeks to address mind, body and soul through the following approach: provision of a church, schools and support other grass root church education structures in the areas we work to enhance social, economic, and spiritual transformation within the community.
